ANNOYING MOTHERS

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but with school starting back it's been a little hectic. Speaking of school, I'm trying new ways of lecturing to my students & I don't think they're liking it. They just want me to tell them what they "need" to know for the test. Well, don't we all, however there have been several studies saying that active learning is a much better way for students to learn & retain what they have learned. Last year I did a lot more passive teaching with lectures & instead I tried to spice it up with class activities & case studies that they can work on in groups & really try to apply their knowledge this year. Long story short, I guess I'm going to incorporate both lecture & activities to hopefully reach every learning style. It's just frustrating!!
Nuff of that!! Baylee has completed her second week of dance & is cuter than ever. She really doesn't get into what the teacher is showing her instead her & a couple of others like to slide around on the floor....o well atleast they're having fun. Which brings me to a conversation that I overheard 2 moms saying that really made me roll my eyes. I was sitting in the lobby watching Bay in her class on the TV & these 2 moms (who appeared to be a little high maintenance in my opinion) started discussing how dancing is the only option that their girls have, Mia & Avery, & that if they decide they don't want to dance there will be consequences. They went on to say that dancing is will be their everything & that their girls may play another sport but dance will remain #1....ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!??? PSYCHO!!! Oh and the girls, Mia & Avery, are only 3!! Give me a break!! They reminded me of the moms on Dr Phil who are living thru their children. My motto is & will always be with Bryce & Baylee that once they start a season or a session they must finish that & can not quit in the middle, however, if they don't like it & don't want to do it I can't even imagine forcing them to do it!!
Moving on, Bryce gets ear tubes on the Sept 2 & they may take out his adenoids too...I'm a little nervous...imagine that??? Me---nervous??!! HAHAHA!!! So say a little prayer for him please that he'll be okay. I know he will, this is sooo minor, but it's still my baby!
Well, I better get off her & head to my meeting!!

A little stressed out!

I have to report back to Rose tomorrow for meetings & such before we start teaching again next week. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed & under prepared for this semester. We switched books so I need to redo my powerpoints to match the book....I try to do & the students seem to appreciate that as well. So, I guess I'll spend the next 4 days doing that. It won't be that bad once I get started!!
Well, last night Bryan was at the fire station so I was "single-mommin'" it!! I just wanted to mention that it was an awesome night. Bryce & Baylee did soooo well & played together like they were friends & not brother & sister!! It was wonderful...and then against Bryans will, I let them sleep with me!! Therefore, tonight will probably be hell getting them to sleep in their room!! Maybe not though...we'll see!!
Bryan has been cleaning out our garage today getting all are junk in one pile to sale at the neighborhood garage sale in September...I can't wait to get rid of all our crap!! Of course though, when we start cleaning things out Bryan wants to chunk it & take up all the time looking at it or reading old papers...I'm soooo bad at hanging on to things that I REALLY do NOT need!!
My mom just found out she is a diabetic & we're all sad about that. It can be managed with the proper diet & exercise & she has been trying. So if you all could say a little prayer for her!!
Better get off here for now!! Tah Tah!! Oh & GO USA....I LOVE the summer olympics!!

Saturday

Wow! I'm impressed with myself...I'm actually updating 2 days in a row!! WOOOHOOO!! I got Baylee enrolled in dance this morning & then we went to Showbiz to get tap shoes. Of course, she loved her shoes but wanted a bag too...I told her heck no!! That place is so expensive. I don't know if she'll even like to dance so I"m sure as heck not paying $25 for a dance bag too. She has one at home that will work just fine!! Bryce hung out with Bryan playing outside with his trucks. Then we all laid down for a nap & Bryce only slept for 1 hour...they usually sleep close to 3 hours...I really hope we're not getting out of the long nap mode, however, i know it's possible. So Bryce & I are up watching cartoon network. We took a bath but I'm thinking that me need to stop as he has developed this obsession with "booties" (boobies)!! He likes to grab them & thinks its funny!! So I quickly have to redirect him!! My little man!! Baylee is still snoozing away. We are going to a housewarming party tonight & actually have a sitter all night!! We're pretty pumped abou that!!

Good morning!!

Thanks to my friend of 29 years, April, I have started a blog page. I think it will be fun & therapeutic since I will be able to just type what I am feeling. I start back teaching at Rose State on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to that however I don't feel as prepared as I should. O-well...I'll get it all sorted out sooner or later. Baylee enrolls for dance in the morning. I've already gotten her leotards & tights & she is sooooo stinkin' cute in them. I ordered ballet shoes the other day & got an email today saying something went wrong with the process so I have to reorder...hopefully we'll get them by next Thursday (her 1st day of class). There is not much you can put 2 year old boys in, so Bryce has been going with his daddy to the high school wrestling practices. He even has his own little wrestling shoes....I don't really want him to wrestle, but it's looking like he already likes it...we'll see!! Bryan passed his EMT test...YEAH. He took it yesterday (it's required by the Fire Department). So now, he really will be OFFICIAL after Nov. 2nd!! I might also add that my kiddos are in the terrible 2's for sure. Baylee has been REALLY testing me & telling me "I don't want to" in a sassy voice. I feel like all they do is wine, cry, and throw fits!! I'm exaggerating...they do laugh & play and are so stinkin' cute, but I'm just at my witts end on the attitude!!! Any advice???? That's all for now...we'll post later!!
